Jamis Eclipse

This is currently set up as my single-speed/fixed bike. I find that I really am enjoying riding it, both for the skill development that not being able to change gears provides, but also for the simplicity and quiet that come along with the configuration. The White Industries ENO eccentric, flip/flop hub allows me to adjust the chain tension even with the vertical dropouts.

This is your basic, quality, overseas, TIG'd Reynolds 853 frameset. Probably made in the same factory as several other similar frames from Fuji, etc. It happens to fit me pretty well, and I was able to pick it up new on eBay with the Reynolds fork and headset for $250, so I can not complain.

The geometry of the frame is:

  • Seat Tube (C-T) - 61
  • Top Tube - 59.6
  • Head Tube Angle - 74
  • Seat Tube Angle - 72.5
  • Rake - 43
  • Drop - ??
  • Chain Stay - 415
  • Head Tube - 1.125" diameter, 205mm length
