I bought this bike for Dana when she was recovering from surgery in 2010, as incentive to get back on the bike after recovery.
It was new old stock at Spokesman, and they gave me a good deal.
Bought it as a built up bike, but move the parts from her Cannondale over, and put the Roubaix parts on the Cannondale to sell.

Purchased from City Cycles in San Francisco from Clay Mankin.
We went into the process unsure if we were looking for a custom frame or a stock frame.
Dana went through the entire fit process with Clay, rode several bikes, and it was decided that the only acceptable options were to go custom or to get a Serotta with the unique 52S geometry.
Even with the Serotta geometry, we needed to uses some specific components to make the fit work, but it was a lot cheaper than a custom frame.
Sadly, Clay passed away about a year later, and City Cycles disappeared a couple years after that, so we are glad Dana got her session with him.
He was an exceptionally talented fitter, and was wonderful to work with.

We bought this frame from Wheelsmith in Palo Alto.
It was a huge upgrade from Dana's previous Bridgestone Radac frame.
The stiffness and climbing capabilities of this frame where night and day from her Radac.
Just before Dana had her aneurysm, we sent the frame to Joe Bell to get the paint job that it now has.
